Si ca vous interesse, c'est un peu plus correct de dire "faire du velo" au lieu de "monter mon velo" pour dire "ride my bicycle."
It doesn't make much sense, but that's how they say it - I'm going to ride my bike = je vais faire du velo. I'm going for a bike ride = je vais faire un tour a velo.
Merci, Emily. I wondered about that. I checked a few different translator sites and one used the je vais faire construction, another used the 'monter mon velo' and yet a third used 'je roule ma bicyclette' -- Et j'aime "la regle d'Auckland" --
There will likely be a lot of errors as I brush up on my ancient French skills -- but it is also fun to blog in French. Un petit peu.

Et il n'y a jamais trop de vent si on suis la regle d'Auckland. ;-)
